The Little Su 50K runs alongside its bigger sibling, the Susitna 100, sharing part of the same trail through the Susitna Valley. It's a shorter distance with a 12-hour clock and a 31 mile course making it a distinct winter challenge.
It sells out fast most years. If you're doing this one, register early!
Required and Recommended Gear
The trail doesn't care which division you're in. It cares if you’re up for the challenge and a little fun.
Three things are required: insulated water container, headlamp or flashlight, rear flashing light. Everything else is up to you and the conditions.
Bike
Navigate ever changing snow and trail conditions on a winter-ready bicycle.
run
Cover 31 miles on foot while managing cold, fatigue, and extended time on the trail.
Ski
Ski the course using skate or touring skis across varied winter trail conditions.

Different Journey
The race starts a day later than the Susitna 100, but offers a shorter loop back through the valley. Racers will start and finish at Happy Trails Kennels in Big Lake. The marked route crosses swamps, small lakes, wooded areas, the Little Susitna River, and sections of the Big Lake trail system.
A halfway water stop is located near Gunmetal Lake.
